Appointments:

Q: How does this new process of bridal shopping work?

A: Each bride may browse our selection of bridal gowns and choose up to 6 gowns to try on. The chosen gowns will be delivered to the requested address by your personal bridal consultant. An appointment fee of $25 will be charged.

Q: Can I have champagne available while trying the gowns on?

A: You are welcome to supply snacks and beverages to your entourage, however, we ask that everyone be careful around our gowns. Given the delicate fabrics and the susceptibility of getting soiled, we ask that all snacks and beverages be kept well away from the gowns. Help us keep our gowns in the exact condition you had the chance to try them on in.

Q: Should I get a sitter for the kids?

A: Your wedding gown choice is one of the most important decisions you will make for your big day. When choosing your gown, you will need to be able to focus and concentrate without distractions. That being said, if you have children that would like to be a part of your decision making, bring them in on the fun! However, bridal gown shows are not for every child, so use your best judgement in deciding whether or not to entertain your children with something else or hiring a sitter.

Q: Can I take pictures of the different gowns that I try on?

A: We perfectly understand the pressure of choosing the right gown for you. Often times you'd like to see what each dress will look like in pictures. You may also need a little bit of time to process all of the different styles you've tried on, and it's hard to remember how you looked in each dress. For this reason, we encourage you take as many pictures as you need to make your decision.

Alterations:

Q: Do you alter gowns not purchased from Royal Bridal?

A: Yes, we will alter gowns purchased elsewhere. We have helped many customers achieve their perfect look!
Our expert seamstress will alter gowns for anyone attending your wedding! With over 23 years of experience in altering bridal, mothers, bridesmaids, flower girls, etc. we would be more than happy to alter a gown for anyone in your bridal party!

Q: When should I schedule my first fitting?

A: We generally schedule your first fitting about 8 weeks before your wedding. Most brides feel that this is too close to their wedding. The reason we do the alterations so close to the wedding is because it is pointless to do the alterations too early as most brides change in weight right before the wedding. If your gown is altered too early, the chance of it needing to be re-altered is much greater. We believe in the minimum approach. The least times the dress is altered, the better. However, we do respect your needs and should you want to schedule your fitting earlier, we can do so as well.

Q: How much are alterations and when is the payment due?

A: For brides that bought a dress from Royal Bridal, the alteration charge starts at $375 which includes the hemming, taking in, and bustle. However, if your dress is heavily beaded or you want to add customization to your gown such as beading or sleeves/straps, remodeling the neckline, etc. you will be quoted at your 1st fitting. Payment for the alterations can be paid anytime throughout your fitting process, however if you wish to pay for your alterations when picking up your gown, only cash payments will be accepted.

Q: What should I bring to my first fitting?

A: For your first fitting you have to have your wedding shoes with you and any undergarment you are planning on wearing on your wedding day. Majority of our brides choose not to wear a bra underneath their wedding gown and instead want cups sewn in. This can be discussed with the seamstress. All of the major alterations happen on the first fitting so it is very important that you have everything you wish to wear on your wedding day with you.

Q: When do I pick up my dress after alterations?

A: We recommend you pick-up your gown a few days before the wedding. We don’t mind if you pick-up the day before. We will store your gown until you are ready for it.

Q: Will My gown be steamed/pressed?

A: Yes, when you purchase your gown from the Royal Bridal our seamstress will press the dress before you pick it up at no charge (there is a charge for gowns not purchased at the Royal Bridal).
